Paypal- the faster, easier way to pay your Etsy bill!

You CAN pay your Etsy bill with PayPal!

Yes, its true! Ive been doing it for a couple months now and it wasnt until recently that I noticed people complaining in the forums that they wished they could pay with their paypal balance rather than just their bank accounts. Well, I thought I would share exactly just how I am now able to do that!

Here's what you do:

Go onto paypal and look for ad or tab on their site talking about the paypal debit card. Apply for it! They will require you to be verified and have a backup account attatched just in case of insufficient funds or whatever. Once approved they will send you a ever so nifty paypal debit card with your own pin number and everything! So now- making sales on etsy just got better! Instead of waiting for those money transfers to clear through your bank, (which could take anywhere from 3-6 days) you instantly have cash! I use it to pay for all my shipping, packaging, my etsy bills, supplies, etc! I love it and couldnt be more happy with it!

Hope this helped all of you Etsians!

Sometimes I find myself staring at my cluttered room and/or workstation and not an ounce of creativity will ooze from my pores. Its a really frusterating experience- especially when you know that there are so many things sitting right in front of you with endless possibilities. Lately, ive felt an overwhelming amount of that and hoping that I may be finally reaching the clear skies ahead- Im happy to show you some things I've been working on.
First is an off-shoot of the Featherly Felt Headbands that I have featured in both; VintageEtc and ClosetMob. Instead of felt- I have upcycled awesome vintage ties and buttons and made some adorable hair accessories.

(click the pics to see the listings!)

I also created quite an interesting bag. Taking the recycling concept to a whole new level- i used scrap vinyl from an old project and filled it with shredded newspaper, sewed it shut and added straps. Thus creating a very alternative way at displaying the contagious waste less lifestyle. An interesting twist that hopefully wont be looked at as a possible symptom of insanity. lol

While the weather has been rather warm, it sure hasn't stopped me from searching for some awesome new pieces to add to the shop or even inspire me to create some unique pieces for our ClosetMob shop. Thursday happened to be a day filled with AMAZING finds! First it started with finding a parakeet in our tree right outside our house! While not the most exotic bird, you definitely can tell that it didn't belong in the wild! The attempts were fruitless and the bird flew off- fortunately or luck changed when it came to everything else! Now, while many pieces are not listed yet- (I'm working on it!) take a look at some key pieces! If interested please contact me about reserving. Some of these items are just soooo amazing!!!

On a different note..

At the grocery store I cant help but feel trapped when the courtesy clerk turns to me and asks; "Paper or Plastic?"
Well, this has encouraged me jump on a whole new project! Its called the NEITHER Bag.
You don't have to say ANYTHING! Just hand the clerk your VERY adorable bag with the answer to this thoughtless question and feel good about the fact that you did not just contribute to the troubling amount of waste in our world. There is only one of its kind right now- but soon Ill be posting myself at my sewing station to whip out some more for my fellow waste less fashionistas! To purchase one or request a custom made one, visit my new shop: ClosetMob.

Happy Saturday!

A New Chapter

Sometimes life gets the best of me- and im afraid thats what happened when I disappeared from the blog for the last month. So time to catch up! Summer is here--and boy are we feeling it here in Southern California! But with the summer heat brought inspiration! I have finally launched my second shop on etsy! Entitled- ClosetMob. This is the sister store to the ever so amazing-VintageEtc. Here we feature a variety of favorite restored vintage pieces and a one-of-a-kind handcrafted collection made with vintage, deadstock, and surplus materials; all to aid us in the wasteless lifestyle without sacrificing our senses of style.

WHY?

Well, while suffering through the recession here in the states, its made many people conscientious of our delicate environment and inspired others to do something about it. When the word "Recycling" is ever brought up, the only words that come to the minds of most are "bottles", "cans" and "time consuming". While all may be true- there is so much more that we could do to eleviate the amount of trash or junk we throw out. For instance- have you ever thought twice about the millions of plastic bags you throw out from the local grocery or convenience store? Well- Amanda of Etsy labs sure did! And with the step by step instructions, she shows you how to fuse all those wasted bags and make some incredible re-usable grocery totes, wallets, and cosmetic bags!

Another all time favorite eco-friendly fashionista is Etsy seller Heather of Found and Made. Combining one-of-a-kind vintage remnants into delicate and timeless pieces of treasured jewelery- Heather offers her customers a unique heirloom of reconstructed history through story book pages, dictionaries and maps from centuries ago all sealed under a glass bauble to cherish forever around your neck, wrist, fingers and so much more.

The act of recycling is more than just something Captain Planet tells us to do- its become a humbled lifestyle amongst most, hoping to better the environment we live in by breaking one bad habit at a time.

I hope you enjoy our new shop and all that we have going on!
